The Elkhart County community is mourning the loss of Dreavin Richardson, 21, who tragically died following a two-vehicle crash late Friday night, August 15.
Authorities say Dreavin Richardson was riding a 2003 Yamaha motorcycle westbound on C.R. 16, just west of C.R. 1, when the accident occurred around 11:50 p.m. Investigators reported that Richardson lost control, veered off the north side of the road, and struck a mailbox. The impact threw him from his motorcycle and into the roadway.
At that moment, a 2020 KTM dirt bike driven by 20-year-old Aydin Wells, who was also traveling west on C.R. 16, struck Richardson. Emergency crews responded quickly, but Richardson was pronounced dead at the scene.
Wells was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of overall pain and injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
The Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the circumstances of the crash.
